Dr Jonathan Sen: Cardiologist trained in Cardio-Oncology

I am a specialist cardiologist with fellowship training in cardio-oncology and a PhD focused on precision medicine in aortic stenosis. My comprehensive approach combines rigorous research methodology and use of multi-modality imaging with patient-centred clinical care.

Dr  Jonathan Sen has expertise in all cardiovascular diseases including the prevention and treatment of cancer-related heart problems, heart failure, heart valve diseases, arrhythmias, and preventive cardiology. He completed his medical degree at the Australian National University, and his specialist training in Cardiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he served as Chief Cardiology Registrar. He recently completed a clinical fellowship in cardio‑oncology at the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada.

Dr Jonathan Sen has worked as a Consultant Cardiologist across several hospitals in Queensland including Redland Bay, Ipswich and Mater (South Brisbane) Hospitals. His award-winning PhD from the University of Melbourne and Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute focused on understanding and predicting the progression of age-related heart muscle changes such as aortic valve narrowing (aortic stenosis) over time.

Dr Jonathan Sen is a key proponent of artificial intelligence‑driven risk‑prediction projects for cardiology patients. He has authored more than 29 peer‑reviewed articles in high impact factor journals including JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging and is a regular presenter at national and international conferences. His research has been supported by multiple prestigious national scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council, the National Heart Foundation, and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
